The Government of Mauritius

Mauritius is a parliamentary democracy based on the Westminster model. The parliament is unicameral.

The island of Rodrigues also has its own regional assembly.

National elections were held in July 2005 which saw the victory of the Alliance Sociale under the leadership of Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam.
